Welcome... to the Dover Bay Sports Council page

This is an area for the Dover Bay Sports Council to place announcements.

The Dover Bay SportsPAC (renamed to Dover Bay Sports Council) was recently formed in response to an appeal by school coaching staff for
parental support in maintaining the school sports programs.
As a result of changing budget priorities the sports program faces major challenges in the areas of
program funding, as well as coach recruitment and retention. Through partnering with the coaching staff the SportsPAC (renamed to Dover Bay Sports Council) hopes to develop a proactive approach to support existing school sports and potentially provide resources for new programs.
Our first meeting took place June 14th, 2010 with six parents and Mr. Nelson in attendance.
We identified three areas of focus being

• Fund raising.
• Coach and Sponsor recruitment.
• Communication and Education.

We intend on developing projects in each of these three areas and will keep you informed of our progress. We will meet through-out the school year every third Wednesday of each month, and all interested parents, teachers or students are welcome to attend.
